How to archive or delete a project
When to archive a finished project versus deleting it permanently, and what happens to its data.
Who can do this
Project creation and deletion require Admin or Global Admin permissions.
Archive vs. delete
Archive a project when the work is complete but you want to keep its history — field notes, change orders, photos, and schedule — for reference, reporting, or in case a dispute comes up later.
Delete a project only when it was created in error or contains no data you need. Deletion is permanent.
Steps to archive
- 1Open the project.
- 2Go to project settings or the overview menu.
- 3Select Archive Project.
- 4Find it again later under Projects → filter=archived.
Steps to delete
- 1Open the project.
- 2Select Delete Project.
- 3Confirm the deletion.
Warning
Deleting a project permanently removes its field notes, photos, change orders, and schedule. This cannot be undone. Archive instead if you might need the data later.
