How weekend work settings affect the schedule
Understand how turning Saturday and Sunday work on or off changes how Doxlair calculates workdays and task dates.
Workday settings
By default, Doxlair treats Saturday and Sunday as non-working days, the same as a holiday. You can change this per project in the work calendar settings if your crew works weekends.
Steps to change weekend settings
- 1Open the project's Schedule tab.
- 2Click Work Calendar (or Schedule Settings).
- 3Toggle Saturday and/or Sunday work on or off as needed for this project.
- 4Save the change.
- 5Click Recalculate Schedule to apply the new workday rules to existing tasks and dependencies.
Why it matters
If weekend work is off, a 5-day task starting on a Thursday will span the following Monday through the following Wednesday, skipping the weekend. If weekend work is on, that same task finishes the following Monday. This can shift dependent task dates significantly, so always recalculate after changing this setting.
