How to add a holiday or non-working day to the schedule
Add holidays and other non-working days to your project's work calendar so they're correctly excluded from schedule dates.
Who can do this
Admins and Project Managers can manage the work calendar.
Where to find the work calendar
The work calendar settings live in the Schedule tab for a project. Look for Work Calendar or Schedule Settings near the top of the page.
Steps to add a holiday
- 1Open the project's Schedule tab.
- 2Click Work Calendar (or Schedule Settings).
- 3Click Add Holiday or Add Non-Working Day.
- 4Select the date (or a date range for multi-day closures).
- 5Give it a label, such as "Independence Day" or "Winter Shutdown."
- 6Save the calendar change.
- 7Click Recalculate Schedule so downstream task dates update to account for the added non-working day.
How this affects dependent tasks
Once a date is marked as non-working, Doxlair skips it when calculating task durations and dependency dates. Any task whose duration spans that date — or whose start depends on a task that does — will shift accordingly after you recalculate.
Tip
Add known holidays and planned shutdowns as early as possible in a project. Adding them after a schedule is already built means dates will shift, so always recalculate immediately afterward.
